Megan Sarah Louise Walton today pleaded guilty in the Hamilton District Court on three charges over the incident.

The 27-year-old woman who carried out the attack is shown in the recording ordering Khan and her friends to get back. She is facing charges of assault, assault with a weapon, and using offensive language.

Guilty pleas were entered through lawyer Ted Walsh.

Corporate communications consultant Mehpara Khan was allegedly the subject of racist and foul-mouthed abuse.

Khan posted the video of the incident on social media.

Police told the court Ms Walton, a 27-year-old from Auckland, came out of public toilets and started racially abusing Ms Khan. We get a lot of drive-by comments. "It's been just fantastic to see all that support", she said.

The woman threw a beer can at Khan and her two friends.

"All of a sudden this woman comes out of the bathroom and starts swearing at us and telling us that we don't belong there and that we are Muslim b., that need to F-off, basically", Khan was quoted as saying by Nea Zealand Herald.

"At this point I made a decision to start filming her".

Despite the incident, Ms Khan said she's been overwhelmed and heartened by the response from the public. When she took another swing, her friend blocked it.

As the footage starts, that woman can be seen picking one of the cans up off the ground, saying: 'Get in your f***ing vehicle, hurry up.

Eventually a man approached the attacker and tried to calm her down.

As soon as the group of friends reached Auckland they went to the Manukau Police Station to report the incident, the video of which has been watched thousands of times.
