Two brothers, Darwin, 26, and Derren Sorells, 22, were charged in Aldridge's death. Darwin Sorrells had been released in February; Derren Sorrells was released only two weeks ago and was wearing an electronic monitoring device. "Mr. Sorrels is on parole for motor vehicle theft and for escape from custody". The older brother, Darwin Sorells was also out on parole on a felony gun charge from 2013. Brendan Deenihan said at a news conference Sunday, but rather a driver who had just dropped off passengers in the neighborhood. "When will enough be enough?" "This isn't just noteworthy because Ms. Aldridge has a famous family member", Johnson said during the news conference.

"It should tell you it's time to stop talking and to get serious and to take action when it comes to how we sentence our repeat gun offenders", said Johnson".

Aldridge, who was an innocent bystander, was one of 84 homicides committed in Chicago in August, the most violent month in the city in more than 20 years. Its murder rate is higher than the more populous cities of NY and Los Angeles. Homicides were up almost 50% for the first half of 2016 compared to the same period past year. It was during those hours that the shooting occurred, police said. The list includes about 1,400 individuals. Both men fired their weapons, which authorities have not recovered, but it's unclear if both struck Aldridge.

On Thursday, Wade spoke via satellite on a panel hosted by ESPN that was focused on gun violence. "This isn't a mystery". He added that the city has gotten very good at predicting who will be the perpetrators and the victims of gun violence.

Dwyane Wade issued an impassioned plea for help in combating the city's violence following the shooting, tweeting, "The city of Chicago is hurting. Unreal. #EnoughIsEnough", Wade tweeted Friday.

"My cousin was killed today in Chicago", Wade tweeted Friday night.

"And I just thank God once again for allowing her to be in my life".

Trump offered his condolences later on Twitter and at a rally Saturday to Wade's family.

"Maybe it was a little clumsy but I don't think it was opportunistic", said Jeffrey Lord on CNN as part of his regular commentary on behalf of Trump for the cable network. At a rally last week before an overwhelmingly white audience in Ohio, Trump painted a bleak picture of life in America for African Americans and Hispanics and said Democratic political leaders had taken minority voters for granted.
