Thousands line up to see Donald Trump in Everett

From the security sweep to briefing of volunteers, preparations got underway Monday for the Donald Trump rally taking place at Xfinity Arena in Everett on Tuesday.

Thousands of people are streaming into Everett to attend tonight's Trump rally. Protesters gathered near the facility but were outnumbered by Trump supporters.

Expect other protests too, including one that will start at Clark Park and another being planned by Pride Festival organizers. staff will be updating this story through the afternoon and evening. That's according to an Elway Poll that surveyed 500 registered voters in Washington between August 9 and 13 and had a 4.5 percent margin of error.

This shit again. Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is back in Washington today to whip his supporters into a frenzy about immigrants, refugees, and Hillary Clinton's failing health.

Consequently, his presence here is more to buck up the locals while raising some much-need cash at a fundraiser prior to the public event. The rally includes Everett Mayor Ray Stephanson.

The event also comes as Trump has made a concerted effort to court black voters, who view him unfavorably in historic numbers. The city's mayor, Ray Stephanson, and other officials are scheduled to lead a protest at 4 Clark Park before moving to the arena to rally outside.
