ANOTHER blast from the past is on the way from Suzuki which is reviving the Ignis name for its new compact crossover.

Suzuki has passed down the design elements of its compact auto manufacturing in the Ignis.

Suzuki is now releasing few details as to the powertrain options with the Ignis but is stating that the platform allows the use of the brand's mild hybrid unit SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) - providing assistance through an electric motor and efficient battery recharging to improve fuel efficiency without sacrificing performance. It's due to make its European debut in the French capital on 29 September, before going on sale in the United Kingdom in January 2017.

The other main exhibits that will be showcased at the Paris Motor Show from Suzuki's stables will be the facelifted S-Cross, Vitara, and the Baleno. The facelifted model now features 1.0-litre and 1.4-litre Boosterjet direct-injection turbo engines that replace the existing 1.6 petrol unit. The 1.6-litre DDiS diesel engine will remain in the range when the refreshed lineup goes on sale in the United Kingdom in mid-October. The 2016 Paris Mondial de l'Automobile will be open to the press on September 29-30, 2016, and then to the general public from October 1-16, 2016.
