Chief minister Pema Khandu said: "The state government has ordered an inquiry to investigate whether there is any foul play in his (Pul's) death".

Booklets titled Mere Vichaar (My Thoughts), believed to have been written by former Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Kalikho Pul, have been recovered from his residence, an official here confirmed.

Former Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Kalikho pul, who had allegedly committed suicide two days ago, was on Thursday cremated with state honour in his native village Walla near Hawaii in Anjaw district, with no minister of the state attending it. Assam PWD minister and senior BJP leader Parimal Suklabaidya, and Assam BJP MLA Padma Hazarika were the only VIPs apart from six Arunachal legislators.

"We have not read the booklets so it can not be assumed as suicide note". Mr. Potom, however, refused to divulge the contents. A few more items, including mobile phones and a tablet, were handed over to the police. Principal Secretary (Home) Satya Gopal said they were yet to receive the post-mortem report and "they have not communicated with the medical board concerned".

Arunachal's BJP legislator Mohesh Chai, who spoked on behalf of the bereaved family members, said the premature death of Pul was not only a big loss for his family and Anjaw district but also for the state and the country.

The BJP reiterated that the present political unrest faced by the people of state and the suicide by Late Kalikho Pul is the result of trust deficit among the ruling Congress legislatures in the state.
