"The Premier League is the flawless habitat for that".

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane lobbied Florentino Perez to sign Pogba but the club refused to compete with United for the France global.

Pogba had been due to report for Juve training on Monday, but that is unlikely to happen after the breakthrough in talks over his fee.

The transfer saga had suddenly taken a huge step forward earlier Sunday when Juventus announced they had granted permission for the 23-year-old to undergo the medical at a club he left four years ago for a pittance. "It makes no sense at the moment talking about potential replacements for Pogba because, right now, Pogba is a Juventus player".

Conundrum-solving Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has backed midfielder Paul Pogba to prove the final piece of his Old Trafford jigsaw after the Old Trafford club beat Leicester to lift the FA Community Shield yesterday.

During the post-match press conference following Manchester United's 2-1 victory over Leicester City on Sunday, which saw the Red Devils clinch the Community Shield, Mourinho finally flatly admitted that Pogba's return to Manchester United will, nearly certainly, occur.

"Here he has the conditions to develop in the biggest worldwide championship, with a team that wants to bring Manchester United to the top again".

"Finally, it's unbelievable that such a good player is with us", Mourinho told a news conference after United's 2-1 Community Shield victory over English champions Leicester City.

The biggest offseason move in a summer of wild spending across English soccer was confirmed on Sunday: Paul Pogba is headed to Manchester United.

'I don't think Real Madrid were upset when they broke the record for Gareth Bale or Cristiano, ' he added.

Pogba was of course at Manchester United as a youngster, before heading to Juventus in 2012 after failing to get a chance in the first-team under Sir Alex Ferguson.

"If you ask me do I think it's a lot of money I think football is crazy, the market has become crazy, what you think this season is crazy you realise three years later not crazy anymore and I think there are players who cost £10million who are super-expensive, so what is expensive I don't know anymore".

"He is a big player who will, for sure, be important for a big club like Manchester United".

After his side's 3-2 win over the Hammers, Allegri said: "I spoke about Pogba the day before". Defender Eric Bailly, midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan and striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic have already moved to Old Trafford this offseason.
