Papa Johns creates pizza-ordering app for Apple TV

Well, obviously things have changed and Papa John's boasts about its numerous digital firsts in a news release: First national pizza chain with digital ordering at all of its USA delivery restaurants in 2001; first national pizza brand to offer system wide mobile ordering with SMS text in 2007; first to launch a nationwide digital rewards program in 2010; first to offer gift cards that can be used on mobile devices. The app marks the first of its kind on Apple TV for a national restaurant brand focusing on placing food orders. Not only is this experience even more convenient than ordering through a mobile app, but it also comes with a major perk: a 25 percent discount on all orders, no questions asked.

Pizza chain Papa John's today announced the launch of its own app for the fourth generation Apple TV, which will let customers create and order pizzas within the app with a special discount price of 25 percent on each order placed on Apple's set-top box. Select from Papa John's entire menu of delicious pizzas, side dishes, drinks and desserts and have them delivered right to your door. The interface is easy to use, and it's nearly a little too risky knowing that pizza is just a tap away every time you're watching TV.

"Pizza and entertainment are a natural fit", said "Papa John" Schnatter, Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Papa John's.
