The bodies of Mark Short Sr., 40, his wife Megan, 33, and their three children Lianna, 8, Mark, 5, and Willow, 2, were found in the living room of the spacious house by police approximately 2 p.m. Police went to the home to conduct a check after Megan Short failed to show up for a lunch date and relatives became concerned about her welfare. It's still unclear who used the gun.

Sunday morning, the one officer at the police department there told FOX 29's Steve Keeley details may be released Monday by Berks County District Attorney John Adams.

Burke told the newspaper she saw the Facebook post about a week ago.

Burke said she met Short through neighborhood events such as the annual Christmas ornament exchange or Halloween parties, and they kept in contact, mostly through Facebook.

"Willow and Megan were featured in articles in the Reading Eagle in 2014 and The New York Times in 2015 about Willow's transplant and the family's difficulties obtaining anti-rejection medication for her". I have to hold her down for this while she cries.

Burke provided screengrabs of the July 23 online conversation to the paper, in which Megan Short commented on an article Burke posted by author Leigh Stein entitled, "He didn't hit me". Megan Short alleged abuse and posted on Facebook that she needed help moving out of the family's Sinking Spring home Saturday, the day authorities discovered the family shot dead.

Megan Short posted regularly on social media about her youngest daughter's health struggles following the heart transplant surgery, according to CBS Philadelphia.

He says there is a "zero percent chance" they were "financially driven" and says both of the family's affected by Saturday's shootings will refrain from commenting until after the funerals for all five Shorts.

"With time, things got easier", she wrote. "I'm the luckiest guy in the world to have her as my wife and the mother of my three wonderful children".

Despite the family's struggles, their Facebook pages seem to tell only part of the story.

"There are very few moments when you can clearly see your life as separated into the before and after". Family and friends painted the picture of a troubled marriage with stress compounded by the serious medical condition facing their 2-year-old daughter, Willow. Having a child born with a severe congenital heart defect has been the most significant shift of my life. Like many moms, I have always put my family's needs ahead of my own and forgotten to make time to take care of myself. She also said she experienced "survivor's guilt" when children with similar problems from other families passed away. "I am so thankful".
