They were taken into custody following a pursuit after someone alerted deputies to two suspicious vehicles, one white and another green, possibly connected to the club shooting.

The teens were 14-year-old Sean Archilles and 18-year-old Ste'fan Strawder, the Fort Myers Police said. One hospital reported having received an injured reveller as young as 12 years old.

Police work among yellow evidence markers, at the scene of a deadly shooting outside of Club Blu in Fort Myers, Fla.

At least 14 to 16 others were hurt, police said.

Law enforcement sources told ABC News authorities are investigating this as a possible gang-related shooting.

Gov. Rick Scott vowed that the shooter or shooters would be brought to justice, calling the incident "horrible, tragic news". Numerous survivors have been released from Lee Memorial Hospital; however, one survivor chose to share a short video, revealing his condition to the public.

Four people remained hospitalized Monday morning, including two in the intensive care unit, said Cherly Garn, a spokeswoman for Lee Memorial Health System, in an email.

Timothy Settles was excited to have a good time at the teen night hosted by Club Blu. "Ages 12-17", the post said.

The shooting took place in the parking lot of Club Blu Bar and Grill, according to CNN affiliate WINK.

A couple of doors down from Club Blu, where a young man and a 14-year-old boy were killed while attending a teen party, shop owner Idis Edouard hoisted a rod above his head to gently move a girl's blue dress aside.

A security guard at a nightclub where two teens were killed says she saw someone attack with a semi-automatic weapon, spraying bullets in the vicinity.

An attack on a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida on June 12 left 49 dead in the worst mass shooting in United States history.

All told, officials said 20 people were injured in the violence early Monday in Fort Myers, a city of about 74,000 people in southwest Florida.

A Fort Myers Police Department officer saw one of the cars described, a white Chevy sedan, driving out of the parking lot and attempted to pull it over but the auto fled, LCSO said.

"It was an idiot, an idiot with a firearm", she said, adding that her girlfriend Terry Parnell, who was also part of the security detail that night, was shot and wounded.

"It's frightful when these things happen", Gov. Rick Scott said at an afternoon news conference.

Florida is also the state where, last month, a mass shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando left 49 people dead, once again pushing gun control to the forefront of the 2016 political election season. Police detained three people and were searching for others, interim Police Chief Dennis Eads said.

Investigators and crime scene personnel are trying to determine what happened.

Anyone with information about the Fort Myers shooting is asked to call police at 239-321-7700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS.
